For nearly two decades, the Chicago Defender has celebrated the achievements, leadership, service, and impact of extraordinary African American professionals through its prestigious Women of Excellence and Men of Excellence programs.
As we prepare for the milestone 20th Anniversary celebrations in 2027, we invite you to join us for the Road to 20 Excellence Pop-Up Series—a collection of exclusive networking and engagement experiences designed to reconnect honorees, strengthen relationships, celebrate our collective legacy, and build excitement for what promises to be a historic year.
Each pop-up event will spotlight select induction classes while welcoming the broader Chicago Defender Excellence family, community leaders, corporate partners, and friends of the program. Guests will enjoy an evening of networking, fellowship, entertainment, and meaningful connections with some of Chicago’s most accomplished professionals and changemakers.
Throughout the Road to 20 journey, classes will compete for bragging rights, attendance honors, and recognition as the most engaged and connected Excellence class. So rally your classmates, invite your fellow honorees, and represent your induction year with pride.
Reserve your place and join us for an evening of connection, celebration, and excellence. General Admission includes event access and standing-room networking opportunities.
Upgrade your experience with guaranteed seating, premium event access, and additional VIP benefits. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Join us as we celebrate the people, stories, and accomplishments that have shaped 20 years of Excellence.
