Join the Black Men Lawyers’ Association (BMLA) for our 4th Annual Golf Outing & Fundraiser on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the beautiful 18-hole Jackson Park Golf Course in the heart of Chicago.
BMLA is bringing together Black men lawyers, judges, law students, and our supporters for a day of fellowship, camaraderie, and community building. This annual event is a key fundraiser supporting our vital programs, including mentorship, leadership initiatives, and positive change directives within the legal field.
Golfers of all skill levels are welcomed! While playing 18-holes this year is a first for our outing, there will be an option for more leisure golfers who only want to play 9-holes to tee-off later and socialize by the Clubhouse (see Survey Questions upon ticket purchase).
Tentative Itinerary (details will be sent to all ticket holders a few days prior to the outing):
Lunch (Jollof rice or fried-rice, chicken, and plantains) will be provided in to-go containers, along with refreshing beverages. Please specify any dietary restrictions (see Survey Questions upon ticket purchase).
Secure a spot today for yourself, a twosome, or foursome group as we usually sell out for this impactful event! Limited Sponsorship opportunity still available here.

Driven by Purpose
Fellowship
The cornerstone of BMLA is for African American male lawyers, judges, law professors, and law students to network and fellowship with one another on a regular basis in order to create organic relationships and mentorship opportunities. Our main avenues for accomplishing this goal are the Annual Leadership Summit and Quarterly Round Table Discussions.
You can either lead, follow, or do nothing. We choose to lead. It is no secret that various obstacles impact African American males in the legal field, including the alarmingly low number of partners and associates in law firms, the retention of African American lawyers in law firms, lack of business development opportunities, incredibly low numbers on the judiciary, low law school attendance, and a lack of mentorship opportunities. BMLA has been and is implementing initiatives to directly address these serious issues.
As lawyers, we are in a unique position to effectuate positive change not only within our bar association and other like-minded bar associations but also within our community. We seek to be the positive change that lifts our communities.
