We’ve been listening. For a long time, the number-one request from organizers has been more flexibility in the questions you can ask attendees — and the ability to show or hide those questions based on what attendees have already answered. Today, we’re thrilled to announce that both of those features are live.
More Ways to Ask — 8 New Question Types
Your attendee surveys just got a whole lot more expressive. We’ve expanded the question type library from four types to twelve:
| Question Type | What It’s For |
|---|---|
| Text | Short single-line answers — names, brief details |
| Long Text (new) | Multi-line responses — special requests, bios, comments |
| Number (new) | Quantities, ages, jersey numbers — enforces numeric input |
| Date (new) | Birthdates, preferred arrival times — opens a date picker |
| Phone (new) | Mobile or emergency contact numbers |
| Email (new) | Secondary contact addresses, team leads, parent contacts |
| URL (new) | Portfolio links, social profiles, team websites |
| Radio Buttons (new) | Single choice from a list — fully visible, easy to scan |
| Select | Single choice in a dropdown |
| Checkboxes | Multiple selections from a list |
| File Upload (new, beta) | Waivers, headshots, proof of qualification — see below |
| Additional Terms | In-line agreement text attendees must acknowledge |
All question types support the “Other — write in” option, so attendees can always provide a custom answer when your predefined choices don’t quite fit.
Ask the Right People the Right Questions — Conditional Logic
This is the big one. Conditional logic lets you show or hide any question based on what an attendee has already answered. No more long surveys that feel irrelevant. No more workarounds. Just smarter forms.
Here’s how it works:
- Choose any Radio Buttons, Select, or Checkboxes question as the trigger.
- Set the rule — e.g., “If the attendee selects ‘Yes, I have dietary restrictions'”.
- The follow-up question (e.g., “Please describe your dietary restrictions”) only appears when that condition is met.
You can build multi-rule conditions using match any or match all logic, giving you precise control over when a follow-up question should appear. Conditional questions are visually marked with a blue indicator at checkout, so attendees always know they’re answering a question relevant to their specific situation.
Example use cases:
- “Are you bringing a guest?” → only show “Guest name” if Yes
- “What size t-shirt?” → only show “Which cut?” if a size is selected
- “Do you have any accessibility needs?” → only show “Please describe” if Yes
- “Which session track are you attending?” → show track-specific questions to the right group
Introducing File Upload Questions (Beta)
Event organizers can now collect file attachments directly through the attendee survey — right inside the ticket checkout flow. Upload questions are perfect for:
- Waivers & signed documents — collect at checkout, no chasing emails later
- Headshots or athlete photos — marathons, pageants, team sports
- Proof of eligibility — age verification, licensing, certifications
- Artwork or creative submissions — festivals, competitions, showcases
How files are stored: Uploaded files are stored securely and automatically deleted 30 days after your event ends. Attendees and organizers are shown the exact deletion date at checkout and in their confirmation — so everyone knows upfront how long their data is retained.
Availability: File Upload questions are currently in beta. If you’d like early access, reach out to our support team and we’ll enable it for your account.
A Better Survey Builder for Organizers
Alongside these new question types, we’ve redesigned the ticket survey builder to make managing complex surveys much easier:
- Drag-and-drop reordering — reorganize your questions in seconds
- Dependency Flow view — see at a glance which questions depend on which, with a visual map of your whole survey
- Live Preview — see exactly what attendees will experience before you publish
- Question Presets & Templates — start from a pre-built survey (dietary needs, accessibility, t-shirt sizes, and more), customize it, and save it as your own template to reuse across events
- Validation warnings — the builder flags broken conditions and duplicate question labels before you save, so nothing slips through
- Type filter — when you have a large question library, quickly filter to find all your Date questions, your Radio Button questions, etc.
Getting Started
New question types are available to all organizers immediately — just open your ticket settings and add a question. To configure conditional logic, add a Radio, Select, or Checkboxes question, then add a follow-up question and enable the Conditional toggle to link them.
If you’d like to try the File Upload beta or have any questions about any of these features, contact our support team — we’d love to help you build a better attendee experience.
TL;DR: TicketFalcon now supports 12 question types (up from 4), conditional show/hide logic with multi-rule support, an “Other — write in” option on every choice question, a File Upload question in beta, and a rebuilt survey editor with drag-and-drop, live preview, and dependency flow visualization.
