On September 20, 1955, testimony began in the murder trial of two members of Emmett Till’s lynch mob. What happened in that trial, in the weeks leading up to it and the months after would change America.
In six weeks this summer, a richly diverse group of Chicago area high school students came together to consider it all—what happened back then, what is happening right now and the challenges they face in leading us forward.
This presentation is about their experience in expressing truth through art and video storytelling and the story that inspired it all through the dramatic stage presentation of the murder trial by Collaboraction Theatre Company .
