Featuring live product demonstrations, insightful discussions, and appearances by special guests, the Natural Hair Fest offers a welcoming space for individuals embracing their natural hair. Moreover, it advocates for the use of haircare and skincare products containing natural, organic, and vegan ingredients. The event, part of the 2024 Tour de Naturelle’, commenced in Washington, DC, and continues as a nationwide roadshow, connecting brands with new customers across 24++ distinct markets through face-to-face, in-person, and online interactions.

Create a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair (CROWN). Promoting respect and openness toward natural hair is the driving force behind the CROWN Act, pioneered by State Senator Holly J. Mitchell of California. This groundbreaking legislation marks the first of its kind at the state level in the United States, aiming to eliminate discrimination based on hairstyle and hair texture. Enshrining the rights of individuals to embrace their natural hair, the CROWN Act enables the wearing of diverse styles like braids, locs, twists, and knots in both workplaces and public schools. With Illinois recently adopting the CROWN Act into law, it joins a growing list of states—including Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, and more—that have recognized the importance of embracing natural hair and have officially signed the Act into law.

Since 2015, Natural Hair Fest has been at the forefront of curating experiences tailored to Chicago’s natural hair community. The event offers a dynamic lineup of programming on the main stage, dedicated to educating both consumers and beauty industry professionals.
