MB Back to School Bonfire Volunteer

Calling MetroBoard Volunteers and community service members! MetroBoard will be hosting another Back to School Bonfire! We are looking for volunteers to assist at the bonfire as well as the supply distribution. Last year, we collected over a hundred supplies that were passed out by CUL during their supply drive. This year, we will be distributing supplies to the community directly. We are looking for volunteers to assist in multiple areas, listed below. Please sign up for one or all of the volunteers shifts you would like to participate in.

• Back to School Bonfire- Saturday, August 16th, 2025
  • 9AM- 11:30AM- Securing a spot and spreading the word. Volunteers will arrive early enough to assist with locating a spot and/or carpooling to Hyde Park to pass out and post flyers in common areas. We would like to have at least two people who can be there early enough to secure a fire pit and great location at Promontory Point. As well as people who can rotate out to assist with passing out flyers to the community for the supply pick up.
  • 11AM-1PM- Set up and location securing. Volunteers will secure our location and assist with bringing materials to the site location. As guest show up with more materials they will assist with organization of items.
  • 4PM- 5pm- Break down of bonfire. Volunteers will assist in packing away supplies into cars and ensuring space is clear for group departure.
• School Supply Distribution- Thursday, August 21st, 2025 4pm-6pm
  • 4PM-6PM- Volunteers will assist with attending to the MetroBoard table at Shoesmith Elementary’s Open House. Some will assist Shoesmith families with supplies while others assist the greater community with supplies.
