About the Event

There are many reasons why Black wealth lags significantly behind White wealth.
These reasons include the racial wage gap, household ownership gap and others. The fact is
systemic racism has reached a crisis and greatly impacts the financial health in Black and
Latino communities. In the United States, the average Black and Hispanic or Latino households
earn about half as much as the average White household and own only about 15 to 20 percent
as much net wealth.

This workshop is designed to have a conversation with next generation leaders about how they
can take steps to better manage their careers and financial resources in order to build, preserve
and transfer assets from one generation to the next. Short term focus on creating and managing
wealth. Long term focus on providing their children and grandchildren with even a small financial safety net that may make it easier for them to achieve milestones.
