About the Event

Joliet Area/South Suburban Alumnae Chapter invites you to an elevated En Blanc experience with our signature event, White Elegance on the Bayou. Prepare for an unforgettable evening where Southern charm meets sophisticated style, bringing the essence of New Orleans right to the South Suburbs.

This all-white affair gathers friends and family for a night of elegance, culture, and celebration at a top-secret location, revealed just before the event. Inspired by the magic of the Bayou, guests will be surrounded by an atmosphere of smooth jazz, vibrant energy, and a touch of Creole mystique.

Guests curate their own luxe experience by bringing gourmet meals, extravagant table décor, and posh place settings, transforming the space into a stunning display of white-on-white elegance. We provide the tables and chairs; you bring the flavor, flair, and festive spirit. Think candlelight, feathers, pearls, and a hint of second line parade magic as the evening unfolds.

This year’s celebration will be hosted by comedian Jeremiah Frazier, keeping the energy lively and the laughter flowing, with sounds by DJ B Syde spinning a dynamic mix of R&B, jazz, and New Orleans-inspired rhythms. Arrive early so you do not miss a special surprise recording artist who will take the night to the next level.

JASSAC

Founded in 1913, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a private non-profit organization dedicated to providing services and programs that uplift and empower communities through our Five Point Thrust which includes economic development, educational development, international awareness and involvement, political awareness and involvement, and physical and mental health. Our local chapter, Joliet Area/South Suburban Alumnae Chapter (JASSAC), was founded in 1974, by 17 dynamic women with a very distinct vision of providing these services and programs to citizens in the socially and economically challenged area of Joliet. Since the chapter was chartered in 1974, JASSAC has expanded to bring services and programming to the 47 communities. Now, a chapter of more than 500 educated and professional women, we host events for the community such as:

  • Breakfast with Santa
  • Youth Empowerment Conference

As a sisterhood of powerful women, not only do we host events, but we also partner organizations such as:

  • Public Action to Deliver Shelter (PADS)
  • March of Dimes
  • Anew (formerly known as South Suburban Family Shelter)

In addition to the hours we volunteer to servicing the community, we also raise funds for the community and award college bound students with scholarships. In honor of our 50th anniversary, we exceeded our traditional amount by giving away $50,000 in scholarships.
