About the Event

Join us for a 1-2 mile urban hike as we hike to the 10th Calvary Buffalo Solider Memorial and learn the history of these soldiers who served in the first peacetime all-black regiments in the Army.

This hike will be led by Mr. William Hampton, the founder of Huntsville Revisited ,  a group dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich, diverse history of Huntsville-Madison County, Alabama. You will find Huntville’s most diverse collection of photos and stories anywhere. Companion sites include Alabama Revisited, and Huntsville-Madison County Video Revisited. You can also visit Hampton at Huntsville Revisited Museum at the H.C. Blake Art & History Center.

⁣Meet Up: Please meet at corner of Cox and Posey Avenue (https://goo.gl/maps/cKNMSndU2G53nY46A). There is a vacant lot here. 

This event is stroller friendly, but keep in mind we will have to cross streets since this is am Urban Hike

What to expect: 1-2 mile urban back hike from Cox & Posey to Buffalo Soldiers Memorial and back
