About the Event
We are excited to invite you to our upcoming workshop, Fall Into Your Future: Homeownership Made Possible, on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the Vjosca Cafe & Events, 1010 W. 35th Street, Chicago, IL. 60609 which is the amazing Molly Cupcakes Distribution Center, 35th & Morgan,
This special fall event is designed to provide individuals and families with the tools, knowledge, and inspiration needed to make homeownership a reality.
Our program will feature:
- Nicole Wheatly – Opening introductions and welcome
- Keynote Inspirational Speaker– Keynote address to inspire guests to thrust forward into homeownership
- Attorney Raisa Alicea – Guidance on the legal steps to secure your home
- Debra Schlager, Old National Bank – Insights into the loan process and financing options
- LUCHA Representative – Support through HUD counseling and credit readiness preparation

A Step Beyond (ASB) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that improves Chicago communities of color through its assets: people, businesses, and property. ASB is a launchpad to remarkable, healthy, life change for individuals, families and ultimately, their community. ASB has a mission to build healthy communities by taking progressive Steps that lead to the reduction or elimination of the root cause of a wide range of disparities impacting individuals, families and communities of color. ASB’s definition of health includes physical, emotional/psychological, and financial health from which generations and communities suffer. To positively impact a community’s health, its residents need the resources to achieve their highest health potential. Steps must be taken to reduce and/or eliminate the root cause of a wide range of health disparities affecting the individuals and families within. A Step Beyond’s definition of health includes physical, emotional/psychological, and financial health. A Step Beyond started their journey to address these issues in 2012, with a Remarkable Women Conference. The Remarkable Conference is now an annual event!
