About the Event

What’s a Hero Hike?

Hero Hike is an event envisioned by our Creative Director in-training, who at the time was 8. As we sat around the table brainstorming event ideas for the remainder of the year, he said, “let’s do a Hero Hike for Veterans Day.” Amazed by his heart to celebrate and honor our Military, we began working to bring the event to life and have partnered with Thrive Alabama to serve the community through Hero Hike.

Hero Hike is an annual event where we will celebrate and honor Veterans through hiking and collecting donations requested by the Floyd E. Fan Veterans’ home. Through the presence and story of Veteran and Merrell athlete Will “Akuna” Robinson, we will bring more awareness to how hiking can benefit our physical and mental health. Hero Hike will also promote family time and ensure BIPOC people have an outdoor community to feel welcomed, safe and empowered in their outdoor adventures.

Kids are encouraged to wear a cape in honor of the heros in their lives.
