About the Event

Juneteenth is more than just a historical commemoration; it is a celebration of freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of justice. It is a time for reflection on the past, a celebration of the present, and an opportunity to look forward to a future where racial equality is a reality.

Being a CIO has never been a better or more challenging time for BDPA members. Join an impressive panel of experienced CIOs to hear what they think it will take for BDPA Members to navigate and remain relevant in the ever-changing and fast-paced technology landscape. Norman Fleming, Chief Information Technology Officer, Chicago Public Schools, will moderate the session. The panelists include:

Allison Porterfield-Woods, CIO, College of Lake County
Vincent Shorter, CIO, Retired Army LTC
Jeff Douglas, SVP/CIO, Potbelly Corporation
Mike Williams, Senior IT Executive, Former BDPA National President

BDPA is a 501c6 Non-Profit Organization:
The establishment of the Student IT Education & Scholarship (SITES) program in 1986 marked BDPA’s commitment to being a leader and innovator in technology and STEM education for IT professionals, encompassing our college, trade school, and high school Student BDPA Members. The National High School Computer Competition (HSCC) program, which offers practical training, has exposed tens of thousands of high school students to coding and application development, while also providing pathways for students to secure college scholarships, thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and partners.
