The 2020 CCNBMBAA Business Leadership Institute Presents:

An New Era Defined: Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.


The Business Leadership Institute is a single day, power-packed conference filled with seminars and workshops geared toward industry best practices in leadership, career advancement, and entrepreneurship. The 2020 BLI virtual conference will continue these offerings as we tackle Diversity, EQUITY, and Inclusion in the marketplace. As we redefine Diversity & Inclusion, we begin to understand that these initiatives are not enough. We must now define equity and add it to the equation. You don’t want to miss this free business professional event!


SCHEDULE:

  • 9a-10a – Career Advancement: Turning the Climate of Today in Your Favor  for Tomorrow. (Learn how to use opportunities available during the current state of the environment which encourages a need for innovation and presents opportunity for you to set the stage for your own career growth.)
  • 10:15a – 11:15a – Entrepreneurship: An EQUITABLE Movement. Start-Up. Scale-Up. Level-Up. (Learn how to get your business started, ways to finance it, and how to leverage marketing, networking, and systems.)
  • 11:30a – 12:30p – Executive Town Hall: Achieving Corporate Equity; The Road to Equality. (Explore how business leaders can champion the cause of Diversity & Inclusion by incorporating Equity initiatives that will challenge systemic infrastructures that discourages equality within the workplace.) Sponsored by Walgreens
  • 12:30p – 1:30p – Networking Mixer featuring DJ Kid Clay.
  • 1p – 3:30p – Speed Networking and Diversity Career Fair. (Meet representatives from Beam Suntory, BMO Harris, CBRE, HSBC, Northwestern Mutual, Relativity, Walgreens, and Wintrust Financial Institution.)

Our Mission: The National Black MBA Association leads in the creation of educational opportunities and economic growth for African Americans.  Providing innovative programs to stimulate their intellectual and economic growth.  Building partnerships with key stakeholders who help facilitate this growth.  Increasing awareness and facilitating access to graduate management education programs and career opportunities in management fields.
Our Local Vision: Increase the number of successful African American professionals in the business community.  The CCNBMBAA is a professional Organization that serves as a resource for communicating information and ideas among Black Executives, Entrepreneurs, Educators, and Students in the Chicago area who are interested in improving the effectiveness of Black businesses and Black business professionals.   
The goals and objectives of the CCNBMBAA are:

Establish and maintain an effective information and communications network which will serve the membership and the business community.
Provide continuing business education as a means of improving and maintaining the skills and effectiveness of the members and support the efforts of those planning to pursue advanced business degrees.
Provide scholarships for those intending to pursue business related degrees. Encourage scholarly research in those areas of business which affect the Black community.
Provide a service to the community, whenever requested, managerial and technical assistance to Black Entrepreneurs and businesses.
