To highlight and celebrate the contributions of Black healthcare professionals who have significantly improved healthcare yet remain overlooked, devalued, and underappreciated. We aim to create a supportive space that fosters growth and success by providing the necessary tools and resources. Our mission is to empower and recognize these leaders, enabling them to continue transforming healthcare as esteemed and influential figures. Additionally, through our “Seed to Flower” initiative, we are committed to providing mentorship to up-and-coming young women ages 9-25, nurturing the next generation of leaders in healthcare.
Our Vision
A space for black healthcare professionals continues to transform health and healthcare by bridging gaps for the entire healthcare community, with dignity, respect and partnership and collaboration so no one feels left behind.
Our Transformation Values
The value of the lives of hardworking black women are often pushed aside not aware of how they are connected to families, community and to a healthy work community which can be ripped away because of the color of their skin and the undervalue of their lives to give life to another. NBHMA does not see the color of skin as a disadvantage we value the bright, intelligent humans that have worked and become educated and who are often seen as the angry, lazy black woman who is disposable. Creating a space to support the value that exists in all black professionals that is rarely supported because of meeting quotas or being excluded from the table. This perspective has created years of trauma in the black women professionals and must be changed to ensure the success of all modern health organizations and the lives of those who work hard to achieve goals it is not enough for few black women to make it in their careers and be successful all black women should be successful, and we are here to empower that with NBHMA.
