About the Event

syBLINGS! is an intentional forever collaboration between Asali Ruth-Mandla McIntyre and Spirit Paris McIntyre. Since the beginning of time these two have used their: comedy, shared love of language, music, experiences, and the telepathic unspoken energy that exists only between syblings as tools for survival. Asali is a Professional Violinist, Singer-Songwriter, Improvisational Performer and Creative based in the DC Metropolitan area. She has honed her skills in these disciplines for 30+ years. Spirit is a Speaker, Composer, Cellist, Lyricist, Reiki Practitioner, Facilitator, and Visual Artist, who promotes empowerment and healing by any medium necessary.

On Saturday, June 22, 2024, syBLINGS!, premiered their self-titled work in the Lang Theatre at Atlas Performing Arts Center as a part of the 2024 Atlas Arts Lab Fellowship Program
in Washington, DC. This film screening is a gorgeous documentation of that event lovingly edited & artistically envisioned by A’ja Adams. The film will be followed by a 30min Q&A with the artists.

Through ritual, nothing living dies! This interactive multi-media performance tells the story of syBLINGS!’ inherent desire to deconstruct religion, venerate their Ancestors and exemplify creative expression as an undergirding force for transformation. Through storytelling, live & recorded music, strings, percussion, vocals, film, dancing and more; audience members will be lovingly transported to a space beyond time. Witness the power of Ancestral world-building to heal and make whole. Come sing, dance, laugh, cry and get FREE!!
