May-Ling Chun

Bio – May-Ling Chun

May-Ling started working in the hospitality industry as a waitress and did a summer internship at  the hotel and fell in love with the hotel and tourism industry.

She attended the New York Institute of Technology, where she obtained her Bachelor in Professional Studies (B.P.S.) with a Major in Hotel/Restaurant Management, with a Minor in Business, she attended the Sacred Heart University, in Fairfield, CT, John f. Welch School of Business and earns a Master in Business Administration (MBA), Management and Marketing.

During her time in college, May-Ling was always involved in the hospitality and culinary associations, was an ambassador and representative for her university and attended conferences to recruit more hospitality students for the university.

She served as regional manager, USA for the St. Maarten Tourist Office in New York from 1995 till 1998. In 1998, she become the Director of Operations at the Oyster Bay Beach Resort from 1999 till 2002, and was General Manager of the Artemia Group from 2006 till 2011. From 2002 till 2015 May-Ling managed her own marketing firm,

May-Ling is known for her energetic, dynamic, positive attitude and professionalism, a go-getter, is no stranger in the St. Maarten tourism industry.

She was a member of the St. Maarten Hospitality and Trade Association (SHTA) for 12 years till 2011, May-Ling’s additional experience includes marketing and research services, business development, educational and training programs, events planning, and hotel and timeshare resort management. May-Ling’s focus was always on improving people’s lives through tourism development, and continues doing so as the director of tourism.
