About the Event

World AIDS Day serves as an important reminder that we must remain steadfast in our commitment to prevent new HIV infections and provide essential services to all people living with HIV.  This year, we commemorate the 36th World AIDS Day with the theme, “Collective Action: Sustain and Accelerate HIV Progress.”

Our program will include presenters who will focus on the  progress that has been made over the last forty years thanks to scientific advancements and research. We will also include community focused breakout sessions that engage and educate attendees through topics such as: Real Talk About Safe Sex; Maternal Health; Reducing the Stigma of Being HIV positive, and an interactive session that challenges the myths versus the facts about HIV/AIDS. A host of resource providers will be in attendance to share information and distribute free products. One of our goals is to have free onsite testing available.

Through our World AIDS Day event, we want to highlight that HIV/AIDS is still a public health threat, but it can be prevented and there are aggressive treatments that allow those who are infected to live longer safely. By providing this community event, we are helping to accelerate the discussion about HIV/AIDS, challenge the stigma, share the medical advances and possibly change the course of the HIV pandemic through education.
