Speaker: Anita Jenke 

She is a former CTC client, volunteer coach and now the Executive Director of the Career Transitions Center of Chicago. Prior to CTC, Anita was the first development director at The Women’s Treatment Center. She has a BA in Russian History from Murray State University. She has over 25 years of experience in nonprofit management with a focus on fundraising and workforce development. An avid volunteer for arts and community service organizations, Anita has served on several nonprofit boards. She serves on the board of The Chicago Jobs Council and the DePaul Institute for Business and Professional Ethics. She is the past president of the board of Woman Made. Anita was the 2013 recipient of the Illinois Career Development Association’s Advocacy Award. 

Speaker: Christina Cecchin 

She is the Sr. Program Director at MicroTrain Technologies, a leading training provider that has been helping people get back to work since 1999. MicroTrain is a top training provider approved through Illinois WorkNet, IDES, and partnered with WIOA.  WIOA is a federal back to work program that assists financially challenged individuals with training, certifications, and career services at no cost
Christina specializes in helping IT, Management, and Administrative professionals get trained, certified, and back to work. Christina’s goal is to help those who are unemployed complete their journey toward employment, from deciding on educational choices to resume review, interview preparation, and job placement assistance.

Speaker: Karen Jordan Williams 

She is an experienced, organization improvement Learning & Development/Talent Development Leader with significant accomplishments mentoring and coaching first-to-senior level managers to achieve business results. She has a Master of Arts from DePaulUniversity, in Chicago, Illinois and a Bachelor of Science from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. For over 20 years, Karen has conducted needs assessments, developed, and facilitated training programs that provided employees with skills and awareness to improve their performance. Additionally, she has leadership development experience and team relationship building experience with various Fortune 500 organizations.  Her experience is with a diverse client base including academic institutions, career transition organization, financial services, consumer goods, manufacturing, and waste disposal companies. Currently, Karen is using her talent by working at an international HR Consulting firm and helping executives, leaders, as well as individual contributors navigate the career/job search progress. Most importantly, Karen has a genuine passion for helping others identify and achieve professional as well as personal goals!

Moderator: Tanya Hinton

She is the President/CEO of DSS Global, Inc. Executive Search headquartered in Chicago, IL. DSS Global, Inc. is a member of the Heidrick & Struggles Inclusion Network to partner with the firm on diversity assignments in financial services, insurance, and consumer industries.  In addition, she previously served as the Executive Search Leader for a global management consulting firm.

Ms. Hinton is well known within the diversity recruiting arena for finding niche senior executive talent worldwide to lead businesses that are in the Americas, Asia and emerging markets for large multinational organizations. She has over twenty years of experience in executive search as a diversity and inclusion specialist, working with Fortune 100 companies across all industries that seek senior leadership talent to create a diverse senior executive team. 

Ms. Hinton has successfully placed candidates across all industries and various functions. Her strengths include recruiting and coaching Director to C-level executives to realize their potential for their next corporate officer or a business unit executive position. She speaks at diversity professional association conferences such as BDPA, NBMBAA, NAAAHR and serves on several boards.

Ms. Hinton has been involved with BDPA for over 20 years.  She has served as Director of Marketing for the Chicago Chapter early in her career and BDPA National as the Interim Director of Corporate Sponsorship in 2019.

Ms. Hinton holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Illinois at Chicago and executive education completed at Northwestern University-Kellogg School of Management and Harvard University.  In addition, she is a Certified Personnel Consultant and Certified Diversity Recruiter.
