Sister S.O.A.R

Sister, S.O.A.R. was founded by Chris D. Jones on January 27, 2017. Miss Jones is a native of Oxford, MS. She relocated to Tupelo, Mississippi in July 2006 to teach in the Tupelo Public School District as a Special Education Math Teacher. She obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Mississippi (2006). She is highly qualified to teach K-12 in mathematics, English, social studies, and Special Education (mild/moderate and severe profound). She is also certified to teach K-8 science. She also holds an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education from Rust College located in Holly Springs, Mississippi(2000). In 2010, she graduated with a Master’s in Ministry from Jacksonville Theological Seminary.  She is the mother of four children, and grandmother of one.

Miss Jones was inspired to start Sister, S.O.A.R. after experiencing many of life’s crippling events herself: single-parent household, domestic violence/ abuse, and loss of employment, to name a few. She witnessed many of her students struggle with some of the same adversities she, too, had faced. Great families/mothers wanted to provide for their families; yet, they struggled to find a true support system or possess the skills required to function successfully in their respective households and communities. She used her school retirement funds for start-up capital. She believed that if she could experience Success Over Adversity and become Redeemed, she could also assist other women. She has compassion for the hearts of women and children.

She currently serves as a high school Algebra I teacher,  an Associate Minister at her local church, and an instructor for the Mississippi Baptist Seminary and Bible College.
