About the Event

Join Blackpeoplewhohike this Sunday 1.18.20 for indoor rock climbing! Rock climbing is fun, adventurous, it builds strength, it builds character and it is usually a new experience for many! St. Louis has some great indoor rock climbing facilities that we have visited before and highly recommend! Here is everything you need to know about Sunday’s activity!

  1. RSVP is required to properly notify the staff of large group. Please register through this event. If you show up without registering you may be turned away.
  2. Their is a $30 groupon for Upper Limits indoor rock climbing that includes a day pass for 2 people. ( If you are coming solo, email me I can try pair you up with someone else that way everyone doesn’t end up buying a pass. Here is the link to the https://www.groupon.com/biz/saint-louis/upper-limits-rock-climbing-gym-st-louis Please email [email protected] to be paired up.
  3. We meet at 10am. There is a process to sign waivers and orientation that everyone will need to be present for. That takes about 30 minutes and we will start immediately afterwards. We cannot start without the entire group present so please be respectful of your arrival time. The facility is in Maryland Heights. The address is 1874 Lackland Hill Parkway, St. Louis, MO 63146.
  4. Upper limits provides rock climbing shoes and harnesses. For anyone that has never rock climbed before the staff will thoroughly go over all the equipment and provide a demonstration. They have various areas for beginners and it is lots of fun! A bunch of us went a few months back for the first time! Check out our instagram for photos and videos!
  5. Rock climbing will conclude by noon and we will go out to eat for brunch directly after.

Additional information on rock climing is below!

What to Wear: comfortable fitted clothing, not too baggy. Rock climbing shoes are provided but you will need socks.

What to expect: There are several rock climbing walls. You will be harnessed in and will have the option to select different “rocks” according to skill level. You will climb up the wall using a lot of your upper body strength along with the support of the harness. once you reach the top or a stopping point you propel down with. There is also a fitness center and a bouldering area. It is completely safe and a great indoor group fitness activity.
