Why This Matters

Since 1940, the percentage of Black male physicians has remained stagnant at approximately 2.6%, despite the Black population growing to 13.6%. This challenge has become even more critical with recent assaults on affirmative action and diversity initiatives in education and healthcare. Sneakers to Scrubs is changing this narrative by creating innovative pathways for student-athletes to explore, experience, and excel in healthcare careers.
