Lift every voice and sing!
Juneteenth marks the day all enslaved people were ensured to be freed. Our joy—our art, music, community, and traditions—continues to endure. Celebrate by joining Refine Collective and the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago for the Second Annual Juneteenth Freedom Market, a bold and joyous celebration of Black creativity & entrepreneurship in Chicago.
Back bigger than ever, Freedom market will feature a diverse range of 50+ local Black-owned businesses, live entertainment courtesy of the renowned 40+ Double Dutch Cub, and sounds by DJ Slot-A and DJ Cut Cuz all night long. Drinks will also be flowing from a cash bar, as well as limited drink samples thanks to our friends at Baileys Colada . If that isn’t enough, the museum’s galleries will be open for the evening — where you can browse the current exhibits, especially the iconic Nick Cave exhibit!
Better yet, a portion of proceeds benefits The Gray Matter Experience, a non-profit organization focused on unlocking the self-determining power of Black youth, and strengthening their ties to community through real world experience in entrepreneurship.
We’re excited to see you there! Check out the list of participating businesses:
